ABOUT INDEX
Who is GLUE?

GLUE, a coalition comprised of post-boomer urbanists located in the "rustbelt," was founded to promote the power, aide in the positive transformation, and address the shared challenges of similarly-storied older industrial cities situated in the Great Lakes watershed. Among the ranks of GLUE coalition members are community organizers, urban planners, artists, environmentalists, entrepreneurs, and students living and working in over twenty cities in ten states.

Sarah Szurpicki and Abby Wilson developed the concept for the Great Lakes Urban Exchange (GLUE) during the summer of 2007, as an outgrowth of comparative conversations about their experiences coming home to similarly challenged post-industrial cities. Between them, they have run political campaigns, traveled to five continents, written over a million dollars worth of successful grant proposals, and performed on half a dozen stages.

GLUE would also not be possible without: Brett Renfer and Alyssa Mullen, our web designers, Alex Braidwood, our web consultant, the generous and talented graphic designer Serene Arena, Lindsay Patross, who has provided invaluable technical guidance, and Pat Clark, whose status as a dot connector remains unmatched.

Finally, GLUE would like to thank the amazing Pittsburgh company LibSyn, who volunteered to host our podcasts for free. Thank you LibSyn!
